This system for displaying and monitoring the kiln shell temperature is based on Windows NT. It enables early detection of problems with the refractory lining, allowing the reliable avoidance of damage.

A robust infrared line scanner records the kiln shell temperature and transfers the data to the master control system via fibre optics.
The software module comprises the displaying and administration of temperature pictures, profiles and trends. The component "Kiln tyre monitoring" is an optional add-on item.

If the system is integrated into the POLCID® NT master process control structure, the displays can be shown on several clients, making the KTS an important module of the Polysius factory automation system.
