Often, indirect and therefore gentle cooling processes are preferable to direct heat dissipation processes such as water injection into the mill.

The Polysius fines cooler works on the principle of indirect heat dissipation, i.e. the heat dissipating coolant does not come into contact with the material being cooled, so the product quality is not affected. Depending on the specific needs of the process, either the fines or the circulating material or the recycled oversize material of the grinding plant is cooled.

The Krupp Polysius product range includes six cooler sizes for throughput rates of up to 180 tph. This type of cooler can be used in the cement manufacturing process or for reducing the temperature of other fine materials.
