The injection of powdered reagents is an effective process with low operating expense for the removal of undesirable accompanying elements in steel and for the alloying of steels.

Polysius has installed more than 20 injection systems all around the world for the stirring, alloying, carburisation, desulphurisation deoxygenation and dephosphorisation of steel in ladles and ladle furnaces with capacities of up to 300 tonnes of steel.
