Flash cooler

The flash cooler operates according to the same principle as the flash dryer. Ambient air is intensively mixed with the hot feed material in the riser pipe of the cooler. The heated-up air can be used in subsequent processes (e.g. as secondary air for burning processes)

Even if there are several cooling stages in series connection, the footprint of this cooling system is often smaller than that of, for instance, a rotary cooler. A further advantage is that no water supply and treatment system is necessary.

If a flash dryer with cyclone is used, the dried product discharged from the top of the system can be directly fed into a silo without needing a vertical conveyor.
