Polysius del Peru, as it has been named,
is the youngest member of the Polysius
Group.
On 13 September, 2007, the Service Center opened doors in Matarani for the
very first time, not only in order to start production, but also to celebrate the inauguration.

More than one hundred representatives of
politics and the industry, as well as customers
operating in the minerals industry
accepted the invitation.
The decision to build the Service Center
was made in 2005. The decisive factor
was the signing of a long-term service
contract with a Peruvian customer.
The construction activities began in April,
2007.
The business of the Service Center consists
of maintaining and manufacturing
machines and components for the mining
and cement industry in the South American
region.
The Service Center is fitted out with a
great variety of machinery and equipment, such as an electric overhead travelling
crane with a lifting capacity of up to
220 tonnes and a vertical boring and
turning mill where workpieces of up to100 tonnes can be machined. All machines
are CNC controlled and even
complicated profiles can be manufactured
in such a way that they fit exactly. Regarding
its technical equipment, the
Service Center is thus one of the most
state-of-the-art manufacturing workshops
in Peru. The location of the Service Center is also very favourable:
In its immediate vicinity, there are a maritime
port and a highway junction to a
highway leading to Brazil. The large ore mines of Peru and Chile are not far away either.
Thanks to the Service Center, Polysius will
be able to meet the customers' requests
for shorter delivery times. By enhancing
the service activities, Polysius not only
strengthens its commitment to the increasingly
important minerals sector, but
also avoids a drain of production-relevant
know-how.
